Alisha Saxena, Editor-in-Chief

MPP ’23 – Disability Policy, Democracy Reform, Data Rights Policy, Gender Policy

Alisha Saxena (she/her) is originally from California and attended UC San Diego, where she earned her BA in Political Science-Public Law with a minor in African American Studies. She previously worked as a Research Associate at RepresentWomen, where she authored reports on marginalized communities, women’s political representation, and electoral reform. Currently, Alisha is a policy intern at the AARP and the Economic Innovation Group, where she is focusing on caregiving policy and economic dynamism in the United States. She is an avid reader, having read over 250 books this year alone!

Isha Arora, Managing Editor

MPP’23- Gender Policy, Impact Investment, Economic and Financial Inclusion

Isha Arora (she/her) is a second-year MPP student, focused on a career in strategy consulting and impact investment. Her policy interests include financial inclusion, gender disparities and international development. She has an undergraduate degree in Economics and has worked for over four years as a financial journalist. Isha is currently Consulting with the World Bank on their digital healthcare portfolio and is also an Associate at the Sorenson Impact Center where she conducts due-diligence and financial analysis on potential impact deals. In her free time, Isha enjoys going on long walks, binge-watching crime shows and exploring different cuisines.

 

Pooja Thapar, Managing Editor

MPP/MBA ‘24- Gender Policy, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Impact

Pooja is originally from the Bay Area in California where she was born, raised, and attended college at Santa Clara University. Soon after graduating with a degree in Political Science, she moved to Washington D.C. and spent six years at the World Bank working on measurement and evaluation for corporate communications and digital strategy before returning to graduate school to pursue dual degrees in policy and business. She enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and cuisines, and playing tennis.

Julia Stadlinger, Senior Spring Editor

MPP/MBA ’24 – Economic Policy, Environmental Policy, Corporate Social Responsibility

 Julia Stadlinger is originally from New Jersey and attended Rutgers University where she earned her BS in Public Policy with a concentration in Poverty & Inequality. Prior to starting at Georgetown, she worked on the data and program evaluation team at a non-profit in New York City. Julia is a second-year dual degree MPP/MBA candidate and hopes to pursue a career helping businesses adapt and respond to issues of environmental and social sustainability.

 

Cloris Li, Senior Spring Editor
MPP ’23 – Economic Policy, Foreign Policy

Originally from China, Zhourui (Cloris) Li is a full-time Master of Public Policy student at the McCourt School of Public Policy. Her policy interests include foreign policy and economic policy. Zhourui (Cloris) Li obtained her undergraduate degree from Davidson College, where she double majored in political science and East Asian studies. In her free time, Zhourui (Cloris) enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring museums and restaurants with friends.

Kharl Reynado, Senior Podcast Editor
MPP ’23 – Health Policy, Labor Policy, Housing Policy, Fiscal Policy

Kharl Reynado is originally from West Haven, Connecticut, but is happy to call Washington, D.C. her new home. A proud Husky, Kharl graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in Economics and Human Rights in 2019. In Connecticut, she worked for a legal aid organization called the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (CVLC) dedicated to serving veterans recovering from mental illness and homelessness. There, she developed an interest in health, labor, housing and fiscal policy. Some of her favorite hobbies include trying new board games, cooking, and reading.

Eleazar Weissman, Senior Podcast Editor
MPP ’23 – Disaster Management Policy, Criminal Justice Reform

Eleazar Weissman is a second-year Master of Public Policy Student. He is originally from New Haven, Connecticut, and is adamant that it is the pizza capital. During the summer, Eleazar serves as a wildland firefighter in California with the US Forest Service. Eleazar’s time at McCourt is focused on the relationship between public policy and societal issues, equipping him to take meaningful action and improve social outcomes.


ONLINE TEAM

Lucas Fox, Senior Online Editor
MPP ’23- Social Policy

Lucas Fox is a Second year Master of Public Policy Student focused on pursuing a career in domestic social policy research. Lucas is especially interested in conducting research regarding gun-violence prevention and criminal justice reform. Lucas obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, focusing on Economics and Environmental Science. In his free time, Lucas loves trying new restaurants and hiking in Shenandoah National Park.

Jenna Pelly, Senior Online Editor
MPP ’23 – Healthcare Policy, Housing Policy, Criminal and Juvenile Justice Policy

Jenna is a second year Master of Public Policy student. She is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she earned her BA in Psychology and minor in Intercultural Studies  at Duquesne University. Prior to attending Georgetown, she worked in clinical research for four years at the University of Pittsburgh and Johns Hopkins University. She currently works as a Research Assistant in the House of Representatives and plans to pursue health and social policy with a focus in addressing racial disparities. In her free time, Jenna enjoys trying new restaurants and exploring DC with her husband, friends, and dog. 

Grace Robinson, Senior Online Editor
MIDP ’23 – Female Economic Empowerment, Financial Inclusion, and Impact Investment

Grace is a second-year student in the Master’s of International Development Policy program. Recently, she interned at 3ie, assisting in mixed-methods research for female economic empowerment projects across India. Prior to starting at Georgetown, Grace attended Virginia Tech, where she studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) and international studies. In her free time, she enjoys running, going to museums, and visiting wineries near her hometown in Loudoun County, Virginia.


DATA VISUALIZATION TEAM

Xavier Adomatis, Senior Data Viz Editor
MS-DSPP ’23 – Financial Inclusion, Democracy, Risk Analysis
Xavier Adomatis is a Senior Editor for the Data Viz team on GPPR. He’s in his final year of the MS in Data Science for Public Policy Program, and currently works at the FDIC’s research division. Xavier specializes in text analysis and data visualization, with policy foci in financial inclusion, democracy, and risk analysis.

Joshua Rosen, Senior Data Viz Editor
MS-DSPP ’23 – Civic Tech, Voter Access, Environmental Justice

Josh Rosen is a Senior Editor for GPPR on the Data Visualization team. He is an MS student in Georgetown’s Data Science for Public Policy (DSPP) program. Josh is interested in econometrics, statistics, and causal inference. He is currently a research intern with Comcast, and an MDI scholar at Georgetown’s Massive Data Institute.

 


COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

Grant Fuller, Senior Communications Lead
MPP ’23 – Infrastructure, Smart Cities

Grant Fuller is from Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from UNC Greensboro in May 2020 with degrees in Marketing and International Business. Outside of GPPR, he serves as the President of Big Buddies and is involved with the Graduate Consulting Club. He currently interns for the office of Congressman Jim Clyburn and hope to work in Public Affairs for a tech or social media company after he graduates in May 2023. Outside of school, his hobbies include working out, muay thai, acting, and watching Marvel movies!

Vanessa Patel, Senior Communications Lead
MPP ’23 – Social Policy, Foreign Policy, Defense Policy

Originally from Berea, Kentucky, Vanessa Patel is a second year Masters of Public Policy (MPP) student. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BA in Political Science, where she focused on Criminology and International Relations. This past summer, Vanessa interned for Boeing Defense, where she developed an interest in international government and defense strategy. She enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and binge-watching movies.

Tarun Heran, Senior Business Lead
MPP ’23 – Technology Policy, Environmental Policy

Tarun Heran is the Treasurer and Business Director at GPPR. Originally from the United Kingdom, she is a second-year Master of Public Policy Candidate at the McCourt School of Public Policy. Tarun holds a Law Degree (LLB) from University College London, where she developed an interest in Environmental Policy.
