Once an intellectual exercise reserved for academics, proposals for basic income have begun to enter mainstream conversation. Despite boasting proponents on both sides of the aisle, there are stark differences in each side’s vision for a basic income policy.
Research agrees that “the typical volunteer is white, female, married with children, middle-aged, with higher levels of education and socioeconomic status.” But are they straight, too?
